Preface
Everything changes in the universe with the passage of time. The change occurs for better performance and better results. Similarly, the change has occurred in the Mathematics Curriculum as well. The present book titled "Basic Mathematics" grade 11 is the new form of our books "Higher Secondary Level Basic Mathematics for grade XI and XII". The new and updated curriculum in Mathematics needs a revision of our books "Higher Secondary Level Basic Mathematics Vol. I and Vol. II "for grades XI and XII in order to meet the necessity of the latest changes. So, we revised our previous books and presented them under the title "Basic Mathematics" in grade 11.
In this edition, we have as usual preserved many features and characteristics of the previous edition which are highly liked and appreciated by the teachers and taught while incorporating many changes in both content and extent. New chapters on statistics, mechanics, and computational mathematics have been added which are new for the students of grade 11. So, we have added these changes with full consideration of their practical importance. Besides these, mathematics for Economics and Business as an alternative to mechanics have been added.
We must not forget to thank Mr. Ananda Krishna Shrestha of Sukunda Pustak Bhawan for the determination and dedication he has shown in publishing the book in time. We also thank Mr. Kiran Shakya for the appreciable work done by him in computer typing and figure designing.
Any suggestion for the improvement of the book will be highly appreciated and thankfully acknowledged.
